Three people have been arrested and heroin and cocaine with an estimated street value of more than £2,500 were seized in a drugs raid yesterday in Newton Heath. .

The trio were arrested yesterday after a raid in Edgeware Road.

A large amount of Class A drugs were seized from the property including heroin and cocaine with an estimated street value of more than £2,500.

Additional drug paraphernalia were also seized.

The investigation has been carried out by Challenger officers who are dedicated to targeting organised crime in Greater Manchester.

A 58-year-old woman, a 55-year-old man and a 25-year-old man have all been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Police Constable Andrew Shahhet, of GMP’s City of Manchester borough, said: “I would like to thank the community for working with us to tackle these crimes and encourage people to continue to share information with us.

“Three people are now in custody thanks to the community working with us. I want to stress that our work is only possible with their continued support.

“I hope today’s warrants prove that we take all reports seriously and that people can see we have listened to their concerns and acted on them.

“Please continue to report anything suspicious and help us stop people who are benefitting from crime.”
