Thomas Dakin Gin is launching at its home airport, Manchester Terminal 1, both on the shelves in the World Duty Free shop and at the pop up Thomas Dakin Gin Bar.
The first delivery, by the new liveried Thomas Dakin Austin K2 1946 vintage van, was en route to stock the bar this morning. The Thomas Dakin Bar will be open from 25 May 2016 for four weeks and is located in the main World Duty Free shop in Terminal 1, through which 600,000 travellers will pass, en route to the Departure gates.
The Thomas Dakin Bar will be serving signature ‘Tom & Tonics’ and Manchester Bee cocktails and is open from 5am until 2am every day. This is part of Thomas Dakin’s commitment to Manchester, with investment in its home airport and plans for a craft distillery in Manchester progressing well. Thomas Dakin is on sale in all three Manchester Airport Terminals as well as in World Duty Free at Heathrow, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The Austin K2 van will be based in Manchester for events and festivals and is set to become a familiar sight delivering stock to local bars and restaurants in and around Manchester in the coming months.

Thomas Dakin was the forefather of quality English gin and began distilling from the G&J Distillery in Warrington in 1761. Thomas Dakin Gin is named after the successful gin pioneer and has been well received in Manchester and world-wide since its launch in July 2015. It was awarded the San Francisco World Spirits Competition Gold medal and a Gold at the World Gin Awards Gold for London Dry Gin in 2016.
