This August Bank Holiday, The Refuge and Kimpton Clocktower Hotel are proud to reveal the lineup for Manchester’s beloved annual celebration ‘Come As You Are Weekender’ on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th August.
The two-day spectacular showcases iconic DJs and performers including headline acts The Reflex and John Morales who are set to create an electric atmosphere packed with house and disco gems to celebrate Manchester Pride.
Branded “a genius” by A-list rockstar Noel Gallagher, The Reflex will return to the decks for the first time in three years on Saturday 27th August. Respected by music lovers and DJs worldwide, The Reflex has also gained the trust of the original artists he has remixed, like music legends Nile Rodgers, Cerrone, Giorgio Moroder, Kid Creole and Paul Weller. With 20+ years in the game, party goers can expect an impressive mix of disco, cosmic, funk, and boogie house Reflex Revisions.
On Sunday 28th August, the clubbing world will say its farewell to the iconic John Morales. Described as ‘DJ royalty’ and one of the most recognised names in dance music history, John has played some of the most prestigious venues in the world including the infamous Studio 54. Morales will take to the Terrace to perform a closing show like no other, and is not one to be missed.
Fresh from breaking the Guinness World Record at Camp Bestival for the World’s Biggest Disco Dance, The Refuge will welcome The Hush Club and its resident DJs who will take over the Terrace with its sequinned DJ booth. Expect nothing less than the very finest disco and house tracks for an all-day soiree.
Igniting the celebration of all things music, love and inclusivity are The Refuge regulars Julie Wills, member of the Disco Mums Collective and popular Manchester DJ & Producer, Jimmy Turnbull. Artists Supernature Disco, Sticky Heat, The Colonel and Steve Conry also join the sizeable line up by flaunting the energy and unity that Pride brings to the Manchester LGBTQA+ community.
In true The Refuge style, queens Cheddar Gorgeous, Liquorice Black, Anna Phylactic and Narcissa Nightshade will be making a fabulous appearance to celebrate with fellow pride partygoers each day.
