The British Heart Foundation is calling on the North West to shop preloved and help raise funds for life saving research

Whether they’re shopping for fashion or the home, people can visit their local BHF shop or browse its online stores to pick-up some unique bargains. The charity hopes to encourage shoppers to take up new sustainable habits which will save money as well as help save lives.

With more than 1 in 4 people in the North West devastatingly losing their lives to heart and circulatory diseases, every item sold in a local BHF shop will help raise funds for research that could help save lives.

Also supporting the campaign is TV Presenter and charity shop fan Miquita Oliver, who wants to help champion secondhand shopping, in order to raise money and help the environment.

For the campaign, Miquita took part in a photo shoot, sporting items she sourced from her local BHF shops. She hopes to inspire people to join the Reuse Revolution and show what amazing, preloved and affordable finds can be found in BHF charity shops.

Last year, BHF shops saved 71,000 tonnes of items from going to waste, including 180,000 sofas and 14,000 tonnes of preloved clothes. This helped prevent 135,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions being released into the atmosphere.

Allison Swaine-Hughes, Retail Director at the British Heart Foundation said: “I want to encourage the local community to help start a Reuse Revolution by shopping preloved with us. Whether that’s by exploring our ranges online or paying your local BHF shop a visit. Not only will you save money and help the environment, but you’ll also help us raise vital funds for heart research that could save lives in the North West.”

The BHF shops in the North West, as well as eBay and Depop stores, stock a plethora of affordable unique items. From quality designer clothing to retro sportswear and vintage furniture, as well as one-of-a-kind homewares.

By joining the Reuse Revolution now, you can help the BHF save more items from going to waste and help save lives. To find out more head to www.bhf.org.uk/ReuseRevolution and share your preloved purchases with the BHF on Instagram, tagging @BoughtAtBHF and using #BoughtAtBHF.
