Premier League stats conversations almost always start with goals and assists. Goalkeepers get mentioned when they make a howler or when a clean sheet total gets referenced in passing. This season has been different, and with fans increasingly factoring goalkeeper form into their matchday odds and accumulator picks, it is easy to see why. Let’s take a look at some of the best-performing keepers in the league this season.

David Raya, Arsenal

With Arsenal and Manchester City locked in one of the tightest title races in recent memory, David Raya has been central to keeping the Gunners at the top. He is on course to win his third successive Golden Glove award, with 15 clean sheets in 31 appearances, conceding just 17 goals all season.

His importance to Arsenal’s title push has been visible in the big moments. A point dropped at Wolves after a Raya error earlier in the season could yet prove costly, but he has largely delivered when it matters. Arsenal’s defensive structure has been the best in the division, and the clean sheet record owes something to the quality of the backline in front of him as much as his own contributions.

Gianluigi Donnarumma, Manchester City

When City signed Donnarumma in the summer there were genuine questions about whether his style suited Guardiola, and he has answered them across 31 appearances in which he has kept 11 clean sheets and conceded 22 goals. His save to deny Mac Allister at Anfield in February, with City trailing and the title race on the line, was among the most important stops of the season, and he had already won the Save of the Month award in September after a crucial intervention in the Manchester derby on his debut.

Jordan Pickford, Everton

Pickford has also kept 11 clean sheets this season, which is a remarkable return given that Everton are nowhere near as well-organised defensively as the sides above them, and the save he produced against Sandro Tonali at St James’ Park in February has a strong claim to being the best of the season in the Premier League. With Everton 3-2 up in the final seconds, Tonali caught a volley absolutely perfectly, and Pickford somehow flung out a right hand to tip it on to the bar.

Pickford also claimed his 100th Everton clean sheet this season and picked up a record fourth Save of the Month award in February, more than any other goalkeeper in Premier League history.

Caoimhin Kelleher, Brentford

Kelleher may not have the clean sheet numbers of the keepers above him, but his penalty-saving record this season puts him in this conversation. He has saved three Premier League spot kicks in 2025-26, denying Bruno Fernandes, Jorgen Strand Larsen and Enzo Le Fee, making him the most successful penalty stopper in the division this season. (Irish Times, January 2026) After years as Alisson’s deputy at Liverpool, he finally got his opportunity as a first-choice goalkeeper when he joined Brentford in the summer, and the step up has suited him. Eight clean sheets in 30 appearances is a solid return for a side that were not expected to threaten the top half.

Others worth mentioning

Robin Roefs has been the standout story among the less high-profile keepers, with the 23-year-old joining Sunderland from NEC Nijmegen and keeping eight clean sheets for a promoted side, including a penalty save against Brentford that proved crucial in the early weeks of the season.

Bart Verbruggen has been solid for Brighton with seven clean sheets, and Bernd Leno has been a major reason Fulham have stayed competitive in the top half throughout the campaign.
