A teenager was stabbed on the street in Rochdale yesterday evening before he was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains.

The incident happened on  Tweedale Street at around 7.15pm.

Detective Inspector David Crewe, of GMP’s Rochdale CID, said: “This incident has left a teenager with serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment in hospital and our thoughts are with his family who are understandably worried.

“We want to bring those responsible to justice so we’re asking the public to come forward with any information that may be able to assist us.
