A teenage driver taken to hospital in a critical condition in hospital after two cars collided in Crumpsall on Friday night has died in hospital

The crash happened around 10.15 on Waterloo Street in Crumpsall between a Silver Skoda Octavia TDI and a Blue Seat Ibiza Sport

The driver of the Seat Ibiza, aged 18 died in hospital of his injuries

The driver and three passengers of the Skoda Octavia were also taken to hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.

Detective Sergeant Marie Eldred, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a devastating incident in which a young man has sadly lost his life. My thoughts go out to his family at this awful time.

“To help us further establish what happened, we are requesting anyone with information or DashCam footage to call GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741, quoting incident number 3104 of 29/10/21.
