The Civic Mayor, members and officers of Tameside Council are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Our thoughts and sympathies are with the entire Royal Family, and especially our new King.

Books of condolence are being opened across the borough and will be available from all the below locations from Friday 9 September until the day after the Queen’s funeral. Please check the building opening times before you visit.

If you would prefer to sign the official Buckingham Palace e-book of condolence you may do so at www.royal.uk.

The flags on our Council buildings have been lowered to half-mast as a sign of respect to a revered monarch, who was loved and admired throughout the world.

Those of you wishing to lay floral tributes are welcome to leave them as detailed below. However, please be aware that they will be removed on the day after the funeral.

The proclamation of the new monarch, official silence and state funeral are being organised. Civic events, which were to be held in the Borough between now and the funeral will be cancelled/rearranged.  Details will be published as soon as possible.
