Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue and Greater Manchester Police are currently at the scene of a suspected gas leak at Morrison’s supermarket and garage in Hyde
A cordon is in place while the situation is assessed.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said
“At around 6.30am, firefighters were called out to reports of a leaking gas cylinder at a supermarket petrol station on Mottram Road, Hyde.
“Two fire engines, from Ashton and Hyde fire stations, quickly attended the scene. Firefighters used gas detectors to help make the scene safe whilst an engineer arrived.
“Nearby residents were advised to shut their windows and doors whilst this happened.”
