A steam locomotive will be heading to the Conwy Valley line this Saturday 3 August.

To celebrate the reopening of the Conwy Valley line, Network Rail and Transport for Wales Rail Services are hosting a special steam train trip.

The line, which was closed in March due to extensive flooding, fully reopened to the public last week.

The train, hauled by double headed steam locos (48151 and 46115), will run from Chester to Blaenau Ffestiniog, also stopping at Llandudno Junction on the way.

Return tickets are available to buy for only £75 return. To book tickets call 0844 856 0688 (opening times Mon – Fri 0830-1630).

More information on the steam train is available here: https://tfwrail.wales/

Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways has arranged an additional trip for passengers to continue their journey from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Tan-y-Bwlch on the historical narrow gauge railway. The train will depart Blaenau Ffestiniog at 13:10, returning at 15:45. Return tickets will be available to purchase for £15 on the day.
