Sky Sports will create a Premier League first this weekend on Super Sunday, as Spidercam features for the first time in England’s top flight during the Manchester United v Liverpool clash.
New equipment has been installed at Old Trafford as part of wall-to-wall coverage for the huge head to head on Sunday and Spidercam will bring new angles to the live coverage, with fans at home able to see the game from a brand new perspective.

The two most successful sides in English football – Liverpool and Manchester United – meet on a massive day in the north west that also sees Everton host Man City in the earlier match. In total, the four teams on show have been crowned champions of England 51 times.

Sky Sports will devote six and a half hours of live coverage during this special Super Sunday for ‘Merseyside v Manchester’ as Jose Mourinho, Jurgen Klopp, Ronald Koeman and Pep Guardiola prepare their teams for a pivotal weekend.

Sky Sports Head of Football Gary Hughes said: “It is an unmissable Super Sunday and Sky Sports will pull out all the stops to create the best possible experience for our viewers. Spidercam for the first time, all our biggest names giving their views on a massive afternoon, it will be what everyone will be talking about on Monday – including Thierry and Jamie on an MNF special.”

Sky Sports football experts Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry and Graeme Souness will be in the studio for both games with Martin Tyler, Gary Neville and Jamie Redknapp on the commentary gantry at Old Trafford.

In the days leading up to Super Sunday, Sky Sports will provide detailed analysis on all four teams, with interactive stories on skysports.com, Sky Sports’ social media accounts and On Demand including greatest goals compilations, combined XIs, snapchat discovery and much more.

There will also be a special one-hour countdown programme on Friday evening featuring key player interviews including Zlatan Ibrahimovic speaking to Thierry Henry, and time with all four managers.

Then after the weekend is over, a dedicated one-hour Monday Night Football special will see Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry break down all the big talking points from both matches while also discussing the title race.

Sky Sports News HQ will keep fans up to date with all the latest news ahead of Super Sunday and all of the weekend’s other Premier League, EFL and Scottish football matches.
