Salford City Council and From The Other announce that Sounds ‘Round Town is set to return to Salford’s neighbourhoods this summer with a jam-packed series of music, art, workshops, and parades at some of the city’s most loved events.

Sounds ‘Round Town will be wowing the crowds at Weaste Pride (Weaste and Seedley Social Club) on Sat 12th July, followed by Eccles Festival (Eccles Recreation Centre) on Sat 26th July, before landing at Irlam & Cadishead Festival (Prince’s Park, Irlam) on Sun 24th and Mon 25th August (Bank Holiday), and they are all free to attend.

Some highlights of what the Sounds ‘Round team bring to the function include the SRT DJ bike (a sustainable bicycle-powered roving DJ stage), a giant birthday cake, an interactive marching band led by pop legends Stealing Sheep, Walk the Plank’s famous creative workshops, and an exciting music programme. Everything is carefully curated to create unforgettable moments for the people of Salford, while elevating some already amazing events.

Sounds ‘Round Town has done the business at two super successful Salford events that attracted 3,750 visitors between them already this summer, appearing at Sounds From The Other City in May, adding massive celebrations to the 20th anniversary of the multi-venue festival by debuting their iconic birthday cake accompanied by a marching band, who led the community in procession around The Crescent on Chapel Street.

Next up was a visit to Swinton Sounds in June, where the team got the people of Swinton dancing as part of a parade around Victoria Park with the SRT DJ bike blasting out the tunes, and Stealing Sheep leading their one-of-a-kind marching band.
