Softcat has announced the opening of its new Manchester office, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued growth across the UK.

After more than a decade at Universal Square, the Manchester team has relocated to a modern, purpose-built space in the heart of St John’s – the city’s thriving creative district, in the Goods Yard Building.

The new office has nearly double the space of the previous site, with an additional 7,387 sq. ft., and is more than nine times larger than Softcat’s first Manchester location, which opened in 2008. This expansion reflects the company’s ambition and commitment to providing dynamic, collaborative environments for its people and partners.

Designed to align with Softcat’s long-term sustainability goals, the new workspace incorporates eco-friendly designs, repurposed furniture and equipment, and smart office solutions. The space is also working towards FitWel accreditation and a SKA Silver rating, reinforcing Softcat’s commitment to healthier, greener workplaces.

The opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, cake, and a toast to the future.

Matt Newton, Softcat’s Head of Property and Workplace, commented:

“Our new Manchester office continues the momentum of our recent upgrades in Birmingham, Bristol and London, with enhanced facilities that reflect our commitment to sustainability, collaboration and innovation. It’s fantastic to see another location bring our refreshed brand to life in such a dynamic way. Each move has built on the last, evolving our look and feel while creating modern, future-ready workspaces. With its more central location, the Manchester office also offers improved transport links and deeper connections to the local community, making it an ideal base for our growing team.”
