Society, Manchester’s hub of independent food and drink, has announced an exciting new addition to its street food offering, as it welcomes brand new trader El Piloto to the team. Bringing an array of authentic and delicious Mexican street food to the menu at Society, El Piloto will be arriving at Society on 2nd June 2025.
Founded in 2022 by owner Lukas Tilzey, the family-run El Piloto has grown from a part-time passion project into a successful streetfood enterprise, and is now expanding from its Congleton home to bring El Piloto’s signature flavours to Manchester. Guests at Society will be able to enjoy a host of vibrant, homemade Mexican dishes, from hand-pressed tacos and quesadillas to corn ribs and dirty fries. Fan favourites including chicken quesadillas and baja fish tacos will sit alongside some brand new dishes like loaded churros and new quesadilla flavours.

El Piloto joins Society’s fantastic family of street food traders Slap and Pickle, Yoki Social, Noi Quattro and Manzoku complementing the global menu perfectly.
Lukas Tilzey, owner of El Piloto said:
“We are a family-run business, and that family touch runs through the heart of everything we do. It’s even in our name – El Piloto – after my grandad who was a pilot. Our dishes celebrate the joy and vibrancy of Mexican food – we love to put an inventive twist on classic Latin American dishes and flavours and we’re evolving dishes all the time. To be bringing this concept to Manchester city centre and joining a new family at Society is a fantastic leap for us. We can’t wait to welcome Manchester guests to El Piloto!”
Nick Gregory, Co-founder of Society added:
“Our search for a new trader was a serious task – we’re all about quality, authenticity and independence and needed to make sure that any new addition fit with these values. From the moment we met El Piloto and tasted their food, we knew they were exactly what we were looking for. They’ll make a fantastic addition to our offering, bringing fresh flavours to Society. Welcome on board El Piloto!”
