Manchester band The Slow Readers Club will headline this year’s Head for the Hills, part of the Burrs Live by The Met.

One of the greatest self-made success stories in recent British rock history, The Slow Readers Club have built an army of fans for their anthemic electro rock sound through multiple album releases and years of relentless gigging. The Met is thrilled to welcome them to Burrs as the new Head for the Hills Friday night headliner.

The Slow Readers Club replace The Proclaimers who, following medical advice, are unable to perform at Head for the Hills.

The band explained: “Sadly with Charlie having just suffered voice linked to a perforated ear drum, it has been further diagnosed that he is unable to perform over the next few weeks and accordingly must pull out of the performance at Head for the Hills”.

Charlie added: “I’m very sorry that I can’t play in Bury and thank everyone for all the fantastic support on this tour.”
