Six people have been arrested after police discovered a cannabis farm in the Red Bank district of Cheetham Hill over the weekend
The find was part of an ongoing investigation into organised immigration, modern slavery and drug supply
Officers discovered a cannabis farm worth around £1.3M and subsequently made several arrests.
Four men aged 26, 27, 34 and 35 have been arrested on suspicion of cannabis production and immigration offences. They remain in custody for questioning.
Two men aged 42 and 50 have been arrested on suspicion of human trafficking. They also remain in custody for questioning.
Detective Superintendent Joseph Harrop said: “We have made six arrests as part of an ongoing investigation into organised immigration crime and modern slavery and prevented a large quantity of drugs from entering our streets.
“Organised immigration crime is connected to violence and exploitation which negatively impacts our communities.
“GMP remains committed to tackling serious and organised crime and will continue to pursue these criminals until we them to justice.
