Police have revealed that shots were fired on Monsall Road in North Manchester yesterday afternoon.

Initial enquiries suggest that two vehicles and a motorcycle were believed to be at the scene and could hold vital information that could assist police with their investigation.

No injuries have been reported, and no arrests have been made at this time.

Detective Inspector Paddy Connell said: “I would like to reassure the local community that we believe this incident is isolated and there is no risk to the wider public.

“We have made significant enquiries into this incident, albeit this is still ongoing we have managed to gain a full understanding of the timeline of events due to hard work that has been put in overnight.

“Extra patrol officers have been deployed around the local area both on foot and in patrol cars. If you have any concerns about this incident our officers will be happy to provide reassurance and listen to any of your queries.

“I am appealing to the public to come forward if they have any information that could assist our investigation, whether it be CCTV footage, doorbell footage, photos, or descriptions of the suspects or events, we would ask that you report it to us directly.”
