A police officer currently serving with Greater Manchester Police driving a private vehicle has been arrested after the death of a 51 year old motorcyclist in Egerton earlier this week
He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
The case has also been referred to the IOPC
Police are still appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident which took place on the northbound Blackburn Road around 4pm on Tuesday the 30th January
