Greater Manchester have introduced a section 60 authority which grants officers temporary extended powers to stop and search individuals within the area following reports of a disturbance of a group of males fighting with weapons in the area of Park Hills Road in Bury.
One male was injured and attended hospital however he has since been discharged.
One male has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody for questioning.
Extra patrols have been deployed and will remain in place through the day and into the evening to provide a visible policing presence and to provide reassurance.
