A search is under way in Spain for a missing twenty four year from Manchester
Matthew Chapman had reportedly travelled to Spain around a month ago but his van was found “abandoned” near Tossa de Mar, 60 miles north of Barcelona.
A land sea and air search was conducted over two days earlier in the week but was abandoned
A spokeswoman for the Mossos d’Esquadra regional police force said: “It was a land, sea and air search which took place on Wednesday and Thursday. The investigation into the missing man’s whereabouts is continuing.
It is understood that The 24-year-old was last seen by his family at around 5pm on April 30, the Spanish newspaper El Caso reports, the day before he arrived in France via the Eurotunnel after buying a ticket on his phone.
Authorities tracked his mobile to spots in Spain and Portugal until May 4, when the signal went dark in Tossa de Mar, where his van was found overlooking the Mediterranean on the route to Sant Fliu de Guíxols
