Staff at SEA LIFE Manchester are celebrating local Olympian James Guys’ silver medal victory by naming their Brownbanded Bamboo Shark ‘James Guy’
The 20 year old from Bury, along with Stephen Milne, Dan Wallace and Duncan Scott, swam in the fantastic time of 7:03.13, just behind USA who won Gold in 7:00.66 in the 4x200m freestyle relay race on Tuesday evening.

Dean Feasby, Marketing Manager at SEA LIFE Manchester commented: “It’s brilliant to hear that Team GB have won another medal in the Rio Olympics and we wanted to show our support to the local Olympian from Bury by naming our Bamboo Shark after him.

“With the freestyle relay taking place on Tuesday night, we thought the nocturnal Brownbanded Bamboo Shark would be the perfect creature to name. We’re sure he’ll soon be in the limelight with visitors wanting to see our very own ‘James Guy.’”
