Greater Manchester's, Sacha Lord, has warned that seven out of ten pubs will close this winter unless they get Government support

Greater Manchester’s Night Time Economy Advisor, Sacha Lord, has warned that seven out of ten pubs will close this winter unless they get Government support with soaring bills soon.

Sacha Lord speaking on the World at One on BBC Radio 4 said that venues are already closing, adding:

‘We are probably entering the most critical week for my industry in my lifetime’

With the Government’s Emergency budget due next week Lord says that

‘We need clarity on energy, a cut in Vat and Bus Rates relief. Businesses, jobs and peoples lives are hanging in the balance.’ adding that

‘Hospitality and business remains in crisis and I’m expecting to see a strong financial package of support. It’s the last hope for many.’

He called for a reduction in VAT that he said was so heplful during the pandemic and help on business rates he told the programme
