The development of an exciting new open-air café and takeaway outlet, Rust & Stone, is underway in Hardman Square Spinningfields.
Housed in the former Long Bar unit on the lawns, Rust & Stone will bring a new relaxed, clean eating and organic juice brand to the city centre. The menu is currently being developed by acclaimed chef, David Gale.
Rust & Stone will offer healthy and wholesome dishes and drinks to eat in or take away including nutritious breakfasts, salads, soups, freshly-made juices alongside yoga classes and open-air seating. Rust & Stone will also be open in the evenings for organic drinks, English garden inspired cocktails and sharing foods.

The Rust & Stone concept comes from the successful team behind The Lawn Club (Fluid Bars and Allied London) and is set to be Manchester’s first health conscious, lifestyle outdoor café venue.
James Wrigley from Fluid Bars says “Rust & Stone really taps into the growing trend for eating clean, juices, yoga and a healthy lifestyle. We want to bring something different to Spinningfields, giving diners healthy options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. By day, we will be creating a beautiful, inviting café bar environment that will provide our customers with temporary refuge from the hustle of the city centre. By night, we will transform into an elegant chill-out destination with organic cocktails, Moroccan style seating, live music and lanterns.
“We’re hoping to attract gym goers, yoga, pilates and fitness fans, personal trainers, residents and those who work in the Spinningfields and wider city centre areas, as well as those from student villages, Chorlton and other suburbs of Manchester. It will appeal to health conscious workers on their lunchbreaks, as well as parents and families looking for a healthy hangout at the weekend.
“We are aiming to open before August, so watch this space.
Michael Ingall, Chief Executive of Allied London, said; “At the core of Spinningfields’ ethos is quality living in exceptional surroundings. We are ever evolving, bringing new brands and ideas to life and Rust & Stone is forging the way for a healthy and wholesome all day offering on the estate.”
