The battle to save Rochdale football club is getting closer to resolution after the club have revealed that it has entered into a short period of exclusivity with World Soccer Holdings LLC.

In a statement the club says “This period of exclusivity is in relation to the proposed acquisition of the newly created shares in the club, following the recent EGM.

Further updates will follow in due course, and the club will endeavour to keep all stakeholders up to date during this period.”

The move follows the EGM last week when shareholders agreed to five resolutions proposed which removed restrictions on share ownership and effectively allowed the club to enter negotiations with the American consortium aiming to take over the club

Last month the club announced that it would need a £2 million pound cash injection if it was to prevent going into liquidation before the ending of the month
