There has been clashes in Manchester as pro-Tehran and anti-regime protesters face off at Ayatollah vigil
Mourners attending a candlelit vigil at the Islamic Centre in Manchester in memory of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, burned pictures of Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Meanwhile Anti-Iranian regime protesters gathered in the city centre in response to the vigil, waving Israeli and pre-1979 revolution Iranian flags and burning pictures of Khamenei.
At the Islamic Centre Vigil around 100 mourners gathered where a handwritten sign read: “You can kill a man but you can’t kill an ideology.”
