A Radcliffe gym has had all noise-making equipment seized for a second time after continuing to cause a noise nuisance to residents.

Despite being served with a noise abatement notice, the Radcliffe gym owner continued to play music for classes at a volume that caused residents stress and anxiety and unable to rest peacefully in their own homes.

The noise was witnessed by Bury Council environmental health officers and recordings showed that the disturbance was frequent and occurred early in the mornings and evenings 7 days a week.

Officers obtained a warrant to enter the business to seize all noise-making equipment.

Councillor Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, said: “People deserve to live in peace, and we will continue to take action against those who ignore the warnings and continue to disturb their neighbours.”
