The Qatari billionaire Sheikh Jassim is reported to be putting together a revised bid for Manchester United before tomorrow’s 10pm deadline and wants to buy all of the Glazer family’s shares.

Yesterday rival bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe said that he was preparing to offer brothers Joel and Avram Glazer the chance to retain a 20 per cent stake in United if he purchases the Premier League giants.

Joel and Avram are believed to prefer a partial buyout rather than a 100 per cent sale.

Failsworth born Radcliffe’s bid would allow the Glazers to retain their 20 per cent stake in the club and with his Company INEOS proposing to own just over 50 per cent of the club, with the Glazers and other shareholders then taking up the rest.

This has caused anger among United fans, with many turning on Ratcliffe in the wake of the development.
