Powerhouse Fitness, Europe’s largest fitness retailer, has confirmed that it is opening a new store in Manchester in spring 2017.

The site in the White City shopping development in Old Trafford will be joined by another two openings in North London and Surrey,  bringing the total number of stores operated by the business to 12.

The new stores, part of the UK division of Sport-Tiedje, will incorporate more emphasis on ranges of cardio vascular equipment building on the retailer’s already dominant position in the strength and weights sector. These developments signify a change for the retailer coming just over a year after the acquisition by Sport-Tiedje.

Other changes include new branding for the new stores and website as well as the implementation of a new warehouse management system which was installed in the autumn and proved itself over the busy Christmas and January period. Powerhouse have also appointed an experienced dedicated marketing manager to strengthen the management team.
