The pound has plummeted against the US dollar this evening after Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey told investors that its emergency support will definitely end on Friday.
“You’ve got three days left now,” he said. “You’ve got to get this done.” he told pension fund managers
Following the comments the pound fell 1.3pc in the space of a few minutes and wiping out gains since the start of the month.
