Polish young gun Damian Dróżdż will make his British Speedway debut with Belle Vue this year after another shuffle of the club’s Premiership deck, and he’s keen to make an impression on UK soil.

Since first appearing for Opole in 2013, the Częstochowa-born rider has progressed rapidly through Poland’s second and first divisions before breaking into Ekstraliga racing with Wroclaw in 2015.

A strong presence in the ‘Betard Sparta’ junior side, the ambitious 21-year old will advance into their senior team for 2018 alongside his top-flight commitments at the National Speedway Stadium.

Though an unknown quantity on these shores, Dróżdż is determined to prove himself amongst the elite riders of the Premiership and is relishing the opportunity to star for Manchester’s finest.

He said: “I’m so excited to be riding in Britain this year and riding for Belle Vue is such a fantastic opportunity. It’ll be a good way for me to develop my skills as a rider and gain new experiences.

“With so many different types of tracks, I know it’ll be a learning curve but I think that is a big positive for someone like me. I relish new challenges as a way of further boosting my confidence.

“A few years ago, I had the chance to take a few laps around King’s Lynn but that’s as far as my British experience goes for the moment. But I’m eager to learn and I want to do well for the Aces.

“How well I ultimately do all depends on me, so I’ve no shortage of motivation or determination. I want to prove that I am capable and that I can be relied upon to do the job my club expects of me.”

The signings are coming thick and fast as the season looms closer, with Belle Vue’s next confirmed National League signings set to be announced on Wednesday 24 January.
