A large quantity of suspected cocaine was recovered from the storage unit in Bredburyduring early morning raids yesterday

Cannabis was also recovered from the Portwood address along with a number of snap bags and scales were also recovered from the storage container.

A 56-year-old man was arrested at the industrial unit of suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and currently remains in custody for questioning.

Police Constable Jenny Weeks of GMP’s Stockport Challenger Team said: “Today’s action was another successful result for the team as we continue to investigate the distribution of drugs in the area.

“Drugs blight communities and we’re committed to ensuring those responsible for the movement of drugs are identified and face the appropriate justice. Although we have a male in custody our investigation will continue and I would encourage anyone who has information on the sale of drugs, or has witnessed any suspicious behaviour in their area to get in touch with police.”
