A seventy two year old man has been jailed for four years for a series of indecent assaults in Sale during the 1980’s

Ian Hulme of Ffordd Cae Glas, Rhuddlan has been jailed for four years and two months, after pleading guilty to the assaults that took place between 1983 and 1988.

Hulme’s offending began in 1983 when he was residing at an address in Sale.

He groomed the boys and indecently assaulted them, insisting that the abuse was educational. This abuse carried on for around three years.

Detective Constable Emma Cyprien, of GMP’s Trafford division, said: “Hulme is a manipulative and calculated man who abused these children for his own selfish gain.

“Child sexual abuse can create lasting trauma for victim’s which casts shade over their childhood.

“I hope today’s sentence gives Hulme the time he needs to reflect on his actions and sends a clear message to anyone who is thinking about engaging in this despicable behaviour, that it will not be tolerated.”
