Greater Manchester Police are appealing more information after a 21 year old man was stabbed just over a week ago in the centre of Reddish

He had been walking home towards Houldsworth Square with friends and his girlfriend, when he became involved in an altercation with two males who were believed to be carrying a knife and  proceeded to assault him before fleeing the scene in a black car.

One of the males is described as being on crutches.

The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and a serious facial injury, and remains in hospital for treatment.

A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion assault, and has since been released on bail pending further investigation.

Detective Constable Ellie Cartwright, of GMP’s Stockport division, said: “This is a shocking incident which has resulted in a man requiring hospital treatment for his injuries.

“Although we have arrested one person, our investigation is still very much ongoing. We would like to reassure the public that we are following all available lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances of this incident and locate a second suspect as quickly as possible.

“If anyone witnessed this incident or has any information at all, please speak to police as soon as possible. Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital in helping us to complete our enquiries”
