Plans have been submitted to develop 52 townhouses overlooking the river Irwell in the Agecroft area of Salford

“Responding to its natural context, Irwell Gardens presents an opportunity for an underused 3-acre site to become the setting for a close knit Riverside Community. Providing a rare opportunity to unlock a hidden asset within Salford as well as providing much needed high quality homes to the area.“ says the developer Balloon Street based J2 Corporation

The scheme would provide a mix of three-, and four-bedroom homes.

The river bank has some history being opposite the site where a Lancaster bomber crashed in World War 2

The pilot was returning from a raid in Normandy to support the Allied invasion of northern France, attempting to crash land in the playing fields further along the river bank
