Stars came together earlier this evening (Saturday 14th May) to attend the second annual Pink Ribbon Ball Manchester, held in aid of Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s largest breast cancer charity.
The spectacular event, held at Manchester Cathedral, raised over £125,000 – topping last year’s fundraising total, with guests including Gemma Atkinson, Dean and Magali Gorre, Paul Dickov and Deputy Lord Mayor of Manchester Councillor Carl Austin.

The evening was hosted by local DJ Darren Proctor and featured a special performance by Brit-award winner Lemar, who treated guests to a host of hits, including a version of his brand new single Someday We’ll Be Together, recorded with Joss Stone.
Guests were also treated to a performance by electric violin trio the Vibellos, and food by Harvey Nicholls. During the exciting auction, guests bid on money-can’t-buy auction prizes including a photo with the stars of Manchester City FC, sparring session with boxing champion Scott Fitzgerald, private dinner with celebrity chef Tom Whitaker, plus original colour lithographs by Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse, and tickets to see Rod Stewart, The Stone Roses, Bruce Springsteen and James Bay.

Lynne Berry, Chair of Trustees at Breast Cancer Now said:
“We are absolutely thrilled that Manchester’s finest turned out in force tonight to raise crucial funds for Breast Cancer Now’s vital research. The Pink Ribbon Ball Manchester is only in its second year but is already becoming a must-attend event in Manchester’s social calendar. I want to say a huge thank you to everybody who attended for their amazing support and generosity. With your help, by 2050 no woman will die from breast cancer.”
This is the second year the event has been held in Manchester, following the success of the London ball which last year celebrated its 21st anniversary. The proceeds from the Pink Ribbon Ball Manchester will enable Breast Cancer Now to help save more lives through research.
