After making his Test match debut against New Zealand at Lord’s last week as a concussion replacement for Jack Leach, and subsequently being added to the squad for the second Test which begins on Friday, Matt Parkinson has been made available by the ECB for the first of Lancashire’s three away trips in the Vitality Blast this week.

Leg-spinner Parkinson replaces seamer Liam Hurt, in the only change to the Lightning’s 14-man squad, following Friday’s nerve-shredding two-wicket win over Northants Steelbacks which saw Chapple’s side preserve their unbeaten start to the North Group, recording four wins so far along with the tied Roses T20.

The trip to Leicester is the first of three Vitality Blast away matches in four days for Lancashire, who face Yorkshire Vikings at Headingley in the return Roses T20 – live on Sky Cricket – on Wednesday before travelling to the North East to take on Durham at the Seat Unique Riverside on Friday evening.
