Thirty two people have been arrested this afternoon in the centre of Manchester under the Terrorism Act fir supporting the banned Palestinian Action Group
The protest saw people in St Peter’s Square sitting in the rain in silence, holding cardboard signs that read: “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.”
The majority of those protesting were elderly retirees, including a woman in a wheelchair who was using an oxygen tank.
This is the final day of a two-week campaign of civil disobedience described by organisers as the “most widespread” in modern British history, which has included 24 protests across 20 towns and cities.
