Fundraising platform, Wonderful.org, has today announced that Olympic cyclist Katie Archibald MBE and Team WNT are backing the organisation’s inaugural fundraising event ‘The Wonderful Week’.

The Olympic gold medallist and her Elite women’s cycling team are throwing their support behind the philanthropic organisation – the only fundraising site which channels 100 per cent of donations to charities.
The charitable teammates will be joining the virtual fundraising event taking place from 2 – 10th September, encouraging people to launch their own fundraising initiative all in the name of their own chosen charity and with the guarantee that all donations will go to the intended cause.

Sheffield –based Team WNT have pledged to cover a distance of 1,500 miles through cycling, to raise much needed funds for The Christie – Europe’s leading cancer centre in Manchester.

Speaking on the announcement, Katie Archibald comments: “Cycling is all about teamwork and working together to produce results, and participating in Wonderful Week really reflects that. We’re excited to work together as a team to fundraise for The Christie, knowing they will receive all donations in full.”
Teammate Hannah Walker adds: “The Christie holds a special place in my heart and we knew straight away this was the charity that we wanted to back during Wonderful Week.”
Wonderful.org was launched earlier this year as part of a continued crusade by businessman Kieron James to make millions more pounds for charities. The platform is free from administration costs and card processing fees thanks to the support of corporate sponsors.

Kieron James, who, as part of his family’s “Team James”, will be taking part in the Great North Run to raise money for The Christie charity said: “In this day and age, the five per cent administration fees charged by fundraising sites like JustGiving, plus payment card processing fees, seem like a high price for charities to pay. We’re delighted to have Team WNT on board for the Wonderful Week, working towards our shared goal of raising more money for worthy causes like The Christie this September.”
