The Olympias Music Foundation is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a glittering evening of live music and fine dining at Manchester’s legendary Band on the Wall, raising vital funds to continue its mission of transforming children’s lives through music.

Since its founding, The Olympias Music Foundation has provided more than 41,000 free one-to-one music lessons to children from low-income families across Greater Manchester. The special gala, Olympias with Abel and Friends, will raise essential funds to ensure the next generation of young people can access the life-changing power of music.

Leading the programme are two of the UK’s most celebrated young classical musicians: Abel Selaocoe, the charismatic South African-born, Manchester-based cellist, recently signed to Warner Classics, renowned for blending virtuosic classical technique with traditional African music and improvisation.

Abel, a BBC Proms favourite, has been hailed as one of the most exciting performers in his generation. Alexandra Whittingham, a Manchester-born guitarist signed to Decca Classics, shot to prominence through her spellbinding online performances, amassing millions of YouTube views. She famously began her career on a guitar sourced from a charity

They will be joined by Alan Keary, Ríoghnach Connolly, and Vulva Voce with more Manchester musicians to be announced, making for an unforgettable evening of music and celebration.

Petra van den Houten, CEO of Olympias Music Foundation, said: “This event is so much more than an anniversary concert – it’s a celebration of hope, opportunity, and the belief that music should be for everyone. For ten years, we’ve seen how access to music lessons transforms young lives. We can’t wait to share this milestone with our supporters and the incredible artists generously giving their time to champion the next generation.”

Alexandra Whittingham said, “Music has shaped my entire life, and it all started with a second-hand guitar from a charity shop. That’s why I feel such a deep connection to Olympias’ mission –I know firsthand how access to music can completely change a child’s future, no matter where it comes from. I’m honoured to perform for this cause and to give something back.”

This exclusive event includes a three-course dinner at the local iconic venue and registered charity, Band on the Wall. Tables of 8 and 4 and several individual tickets are available.
