The Grooming gang investigations to be held in Oldham and London along with Bradford and Keighley – with more areas to be announced over the coming months
Oldham had already been announced as an area of focus, with work there already under way before the latest expansion.
The investigations will examine how children were targeted and exploited, how authorities responded, and whether victims and survivors were properly supported.
National hearings are also set to begin later this year as the inquiry builds a wider picture of grooming gang abuse across the country.
The victims commissioner said
“I welcome today’s progress in the Grooming Gangs Inquiry. After many years, survivors are finally being heard. Today reflects what they’ve long called for, and the inquiry’s commitment to transparency must be matched by justice, accountability and lasting change survivors deserve”
