An off duty police officer was one of two men arrested after a 42 year old man was knocked down in Rochdale crossing the road on Friday night
Police say that three vehicles were travelling together along Yorkshire Street, when a collision occurred around 11.00pm
Two of the vehicles suspected of being involved are a blue Mercedes C250 and silver Mini Cooper S Sport.
The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
An off-duty police officer currently serving with GMP was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
The police Professional Standards Directorate are subsequently reviewing the incident.
Another man, who was also arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, has also been bailed.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to ask for witnesses and anyone who may have information regarding the incident.
This includes anyone with relevant dashcam, CCTV, mobile, or doorbell footage from the area and captures any of the incident.
