Salford City suffered their first defeat of the season losing 1-0 at Kidderminster Harriers, a James McQuilkin strike after nine minutes, the difference between the two sides with the Ammies reduced to ten men in the second half after Simon Grand’s dismissal.

It wasn’t the best of days for any of our local teams in the Conference North. FC United fell at home to league leaders AFC Fylde, the Reds had taken the lead through Harry Winter but goals from Danny Rowe and Bohan Dixon turned the game on its head and despite being reduced to ten men scored a third after half time and despite FC pulling one back with ten minutes left, the Coasters held on for the three points.

Altrincham crashed to a 5-0 defeat at Gloucester as new manager Jim Harvey took control for his first game and was shown the size of the task ahead with Alty, while both of the Tameside clubs also lost.

A first half Liam King penalty was the difference between the sides as FC Halifax beat Stalybridge while Curzon Ashton suffered a disasterous day losing 5-1 at home to Tamworth.

It was better news for Ashton United and their new management duo as they travelled to Stafford Rangers, a 3-1 win having succumbed to an early goal from Jack Sherratt, second half goals from Dorney, Crowther and Nevins see Ashton lying third in the Evo Stik Premier.

One division down though saw defeats for two other Tameside clubs, Droylsden losing to a second half strike by Adam Dodd to top of the table Bamber Bridge while Hyde conceded two goals in the last quarter of an hour to Lancaster City after Bevins had put the home side ahead in the first half.

A Ruben Jerome Hat-Trick on his debut, with Tom Haigh scoring the other saw Mossley crash at home 4-0 to Brighouse

It was better news though for both Radcliffe Boro and Trafford, Boro winning 2-1 at Burscough while Trafford triumphed 1-0 at home to Farsley Celtic, a Derbyshire strike just before half time the difference between the two sides.
