The Night & Day Cafe turns 31 this November, and has like so many other music venues across the country been put under pressure again – this time due to a noise abatement notice.

The venue has teamed up with local DIY promoter and label Sour Grapes Records for a charity fundraising event on November 26th called Decades of Decibels.

With live performances from a number of local and North West based bands including The Lounge Society, Soup!, Deaf Deaf Deaf, Slap Rash and a DJ set by The Orielles.

There is also a live Q&A panel earlier in the day with key officials including chairman of the Greater Manchester Music Commission Jay Taylor. Tracks taken from the live performance of each band will be curated into a cassette and made available for sale straight away at the venue with remainders being made exclusively available at Mars Tapes (The UKs last cassette shop).

All proceeds of the event and the live cassette will be donated to The Music Venue Trust.
