Altrincham-based creative agency, Rumpus PR, has relaunched its community and collaboration-focused networking initiative, Young Altrincham Professionals (YAP). Designed to bring together Altrincham’s diverse range of young professionals to network and create new business opportunities, YAP centres around the power of conversation and connection.
The not-for-profit initiative is set to amplify its offering for young professionals across the local area, with events catered for connecting businesses, start-ups, and freelancers together through a variety of free and affordable events. The launch comes in tandem with a brand-new YAP website, acting as the initiative’s new hub for news and updates. It showcases a revised event structure to help bring together the town’s professionals in unique and engaging ways.
YAP events are hosted across Altrincham’s most loved independent venues to help promote the town’s rich range of independent venues and businesses. Its networking events aim to be as inclusive as possible to cater for all interests, with bi-monthly networking events and tailored one-off events.
Having recently been certified as B Corp, the community initiative plays a key part in Rumpus’ social responsibilities as part of the movement. Rumpus believes networking is a vital part of career advancement for young professionals and so has created this platform to breed opportunities and exciting connections which together can help put Altrincham on the map as a new business hotspot.
Paul Evans, director at Rumpus, said: “Knowledge and collaboration are invaluable tools in businesses, regardless of how big or small, new, or longstanding a business is. With YAP, we want to bring young, inspiring professionals under one roof to encourage conversation, learning and the cross-pollination of ideas and strategies.”
So far in 2023, YAP has already successfully hosted a networking evening at local bakery and kitchen, Blanchflower, a ‘netwalking’ event in collaboration with mobile coffee can, Vanoffee, and a ‘sweatworking’ HIIT workout event with Altrincham gym, Orange Theory Fitness.
For its next event, YAP will host a networking and board game evening at Café Nerd, on 27th July. The event will see the independent café playing host to an evening of fun, easy-to-play board games, drinks, and networking. Further collaborations with local businesses are anticipated throughout 2023.
