Mustard Tree is calling for support from values-aligned individuals and organisations as it prepares for a difficult winter, made more severe due to the consequences of COVID-19.

The charity has seen a surge in demand for its services since taking the decision to remain open during lockdowns and tier restrictions throughout the pandemic, providing face-to-face crisis support and access to low-cost food, clothing and furniture through its Food Clubs and Community Shops.

In order to meet the increasing need, the charity is now asking for donation support around money, food and furniture – as well as embarking on a recruitment drive by opening four new positions to support its three Manchester and Salford hubs.

Jo Walby – Mustard Tree CEO says, “We are looking to work with people who are enthusiastic about our mission and want to help in some way, but don’t necessarily know how. We’re a very diverse organisation so we find that most people who contact us can get involved in some way, whether it’s through donations, volunteering or even coming to work for us”.

As well as monetary and in-kind donations, the charity is seeking people with excellent communication skills and experience in fundraising and support to fill four positions within the communication, fundraising and training teams. The positions include Head of Fundraising, Volunteer and Social Value Manager, Deputy Training Manager and Deputy Support Manager, and will play an integral role in helping future-proof the organisation for 2022 and beyond.

“If you would like to work in a dynamic charity environment – please apply. We’re a well-known Greater Manchester charity and can offer rewarding employment in our beautiful hubs. We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with a diverse range of people, are kind and want to make a significant difference to the lives of people facing poverty in Manchester and Salford”, says Jo.

All current vacancies are live via www.mustardtree.org.uk/vacancies. The deadline for applications is Friday 7th January.
