Manchester based Car Finance 247 has pledged an amazing £500k over the
next 3 years to support Manchester Youth Zone (MYZ) in Harpurhey,
North Manchester as it celebrates its tenth year.

The company has been working with the charity since 2018 and has made the generous move to give even more much-needed support over the next three years.

A member of the Onside Youth Zones, MYZ has become central to the
North Manchester community, enriching the lives of young people to raise their aspirations, try new things and instill them with confidence.

The focus for a large part of the donation from Car Finance 247 will be on the Youth Zone’s employability programme, which is a dedicated programme that encourages young people to learn more about career
opportunities available to them and provides them with valuable tools
to help them prepare for a career.

Car Finance 247 will be welcoming young people from MYZ into its offices to learn more about the business and the range of roles.

Employees of Car Finance 247 will also visit the Youth Zone and offer
support for young people looking to make career choices.

Amanda Naylor CEO of Manchester Youth Zone said:

“We have had a great relationship with Car Finance 247 for a number of years. We are thrilled that they’ve pledged their continued support with this
game-changing amount of money, during what has been a significant year
for us.  It’s a fantastic way to end the celebrations of ten years helping to make a difference to the young people in North Manchester.

“The work we do with young people across North Manchester is more
vital than ever right now as we head into a challenging period, especially in Harpurhey which is already one of the country’s most deprived wards. We are so proud to help make a difference to the lives of young people. The Youth Zone opens seven days a week and we are
expecting  the number of visits to total over 31,000 this year alone..

“As well as being vital money for the everyday running costs of our
Youth Zone, the money from Car Finance 247 will also be used in our Employability programme which showcases to our young people the career opportunities out there for them, literally just a few miles from Harpurhey.

“Many of our young people are not aware of the variety of career opportunities that exist for them as they haven’t had the same sort of exposure as young people in more affluent areas. One of our main aims as a Youth Zone is to help build their confidence so they can go for
these opportunities and achieve great things.

“Car Finance 247 is a great example of a local business that has grown significantly – started by entrepreneurial spirit. We know the team there will inspire our young people to open their minds to opportunities.”

Reg Rix, CEO  of Car Finance 247 said: “

Our partnership with MYZ is
central to our charitable strategy. We believe passionately in the
centre’s work and can see the difference it makes every day, not only
to the children and young people it supports, but also to our team.

“We are committed to focusing our resources on the charity and making
it integral to our company culture. We see how much all of our 650-strong team get out of the partnership.

“We believe that opening up our business to these young people is vital as they look to make career choices in life. We hope that we play a part in showing them more opportunities are out there for them
in our city.

“Car Finance 247’s company purpose is to help people improve their everyday lives and all the team members take that commitment on board.

Working with MYZ helps them extend this pledge into the community, to give back to the city where the company was founded, share their skills and experiences with young people, and bond with one another.

Countless team members have returned from visits to the MYZ feeling
more connected to their community and inspired to help the next generation. It’s a cause that unites us all and it’s now integral to our company culture”

Almost all of the company’s 650 team members have been involved with
MYZ in one way or another, whether they have volunteered at the
centre, contributed to an annual Christmas toy drive, or taken part in
fundraising challenges such as the MYZ 100, Tough Mudder, or quiz
nights.

During the pandemic, Car Finance 247 sponsored family food parcels and
volunteered to help pack and distribute them. Since the centre has
reopened, they’ve volunteered to run activities, donated TVs and
laptops, funded a new sensory room, minibus, and revamp of the Makers’
Space. Earlier this year the company sent an ice cream van to treat
the young people on the hottest day of the year and helped to support
young people with their own businesses by judging the centre’s version
of Dragons Den.
