A twenty five year old was stabbed multiple times outside the Printworks in the centre of Manchester in the early hours of Monday morning.

According to police the victim was involved in an altercation with another man and suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and chest.

He was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries but has since been discharged. Following further enquiries, he was arrested on suspicion of causing affray and has been bailed until 13 February 2017.

After the stabbing, the man wielding the knife was seen with another man before he got into a white taxi alone and left the area.

He was subsequently dropped off on Radium Street by the taxi driver, whom he threatened with a knife for the duration of the journey.

He is described as wearing a dark coloured body warmer with a lighter coloured long sleeved top underneath, dark jeans and white trainers.

This man he was with is described as having dark hair and was wearing a dark jacket with a lighter coloured top, and dark jeans.

Detective Sergeant Richard Anderton, of GMP’s City of Manchester Team, said: “This was a violent attack which initially left a man in hospital.

“The incident has been captured on CCTV and I am urging the public to please study the footage to see if you recognise the attacker or the man he was with.

“Equally, I am appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened to please get in touch. The incident took place in a central location where people were still present, despite the early hour.”
