A Motorcyclist has died following a collision in Belle Vue this morning.
The accident happened on Hyde Road, close to the junction with Redgate Lane at around 7.00am when the rider of a Suzuki motorbike collided with a Peugeot 208.
Emergency services attended and attempted to treat the driver of the motorbike at the scene before he was taken to hospital where was sadly pronounced dead.
The driver of Peugeot has been taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
There are significant road closures in place so commuters are advised to avoid the area where possible.
PC Paul Hailwood of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said “I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the family of the man who has died this morning; my thoughts are with them at this terrible time.
“We are currently working at the scene to establish exactly what has happened and I would ask that anybody who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage please contact the police.”
