A man from the Monsall area of Manchester has been charged with 14 offences after several reported recent break-ins at a number of premises, including houses, businesses and schools in north Manchester.

Mason McCann 24, of Swanley Avenue, has been charged with three counts of trespassing with intent to steal; three counts of attempting to trespass with intent to steal; six counts of theft; one count of causing racially aggravated harassment, harm or distress.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear today at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court.

The charges relate to a number of incidents reported to police between Sunday 28 March and Tuesday 13 April 2021 – including items being taken from two primary schools in Moston and Harpurhey.

An investigation was launched by the local Harpurhey neighbourhood team, who arrested McCann yesterday  and subsequently had charges authorised for 14 offences.
