The Bee Network is marking the arrival of the BRIT Awards’ first visit to Manchester this weekend by letting one of the UK’s biggest music stars take over the Metrolink airwaves.
From Friday afternoon through to Saturday evening, PinkPantheress will be delivering guest announcements at Metrolink stops serving trams running from the city centre to the venue, reminding passengers that Etihad Campus is the stop for Co-op Live.
The multi-platinum recording artist, songwriter and producer is the first woman to win the BRITs’ Producer of the Year and is also the youngest ever recipient of the prestigious award.
Metrolink is playing a key role in helping people get to and from the venue by offering free travel to those with tickets to the awards ceremony.
It’s not the only thing Transport for Greater Manchester is doing to mark the historic occasion, with BRIT Awards posters also appearing across the Metrolink network alongside a BRITs-branded tram.
People travelling into the city by train may have already seen the famous BRIT award statuette emblazoned across TfGM’s offices opposite Manchester Piccadilly, while the iconic symbol is also making an appearance on green pedestrian traffic signals around the city centre.
